Lettering, that’s what monks used to do before printing.
Today we call it typography. As lettering evolved into typography, it became even wider with the Digital Age. It was, still is actually, a complicated field. Drawing a font is easy but to make it as effective as before is not the same story.
Nevertheless, writing is mesmerizing and using letters as art and not only as a mere mean of communication is how some artists and graphics like to express themselves.
These paintings combine fonts and textures. Only good-looking or do they get you thinking? That’s a question for art 😉 They are 3 tiles by 2 tiles.
