It all depends what you want … but hey, if you are here we suspect you are not a fan of the cartoonish look and feel of the game. Our recommandation is : download everything, install them all. Have a blast.

It’s quite easy :
- If you have everything: put all in.
- If not : download whatever expansion you have according to the name of the city ( or the EP/SP pack )
- Put the whole into a folder in your Mods folder
- Done
WHAT ABOUT DIRECTX 11 ?
What about it ? We regularly update the mods to comply with EAxis whims … We might not update as soon as they throw a wrench in the machine but we come around. If you have DirectX 11 : you’re good. If you don’t : you’re good. Ain’t that swell ? ( Yes, it is. ) 🫅
WHERE ARE THE SAN MYSHUNO/CITY LIVING FILES?
In the BaseGame files 💡 This expansion is particularly big in term of terrains files, at the time we felt it too big to release files specific to San Myshuno. We’ll come around. Just wait and see 🔥
SO SAN MYSHUNO IS NOT K-HIPPIED?
It is! Everything not-grass is not: urban, road, sidewalk, bench, etc.
WILL IT OVERKILL MY GAME?
Not at all. Most Maxis files for Worlds are 1024px, we used the same and we changed/modified the textures. This is why it is a replacement 🖌
WHAT IF I WANT TO KEEP A WORLD WITH ITS ORIGINAL LOOK?
It might not work. Maxis often use files from other packs to cover each other. It is not uncommon to see interactions and intercommunications between files of different extensions, especially with the base game. 🏴
OK. STILL, DOESN’T LOOK QUITE THE SAME OUTSIDE MY BACKYARD THAN IN THE PARK NEXT DOOR.
We know. Maxis doesn’t manage terrain files the same way everywhere. Here is our hypothesis: outside your playground, there’s a grid. The game is applying the files on a grid which seem to stretch the same file perhaps 4/6/8 times larger than on the playfield. We work hard to level the differences between the limits of your lot and the rest of the world so everything is harmonious and seamless as possible. Unless we get a World Builder Tool or a confirmation of our hypothesis, this is the best we can do … Well maybe not the best of the best but this is a stable work still in progress 🙃
